The Centifictionist

David G. Boston’s 99 word microfiction, “The Last Goodbye”, will appear in the first issue of The Centifictionist (Vol. 1, Issue 1, Spring/Summer 2020). David graciously answered a few brief questions for us. Read the interview below.

1. What inspired the story “The Last Goodbye”?

The story, “The Last Goodbye”, was inspired by a good friend, the late Joseph Rosenberg, a survivor of the concentration camps.

2. What inspires you and your writing?

I enjoy writing about people and their life experiences.

3. What keeps you going when experiencing times of misery and despair?

I think about the loved ones who are no longer with me and keep on living for them.

4. What advice do you have for microfiction writers?

Make your stories concise, descriptive, and memorable.

5. Is there anything else that you would like people to know about you and/or your writing?

I usually write poetry, I have done so most of my life. But I also enjoy writing stories.
